1st African Rafting Championship

Rapids Camp Sagana and Kenya Rafting Federation was proud to host the First African Rafting Championship Sagana Kenya from July 14–20, 2025!
Rafting Teams from the eleven African Countries battled it out on our wild waters at Sagana River. The eleven countries that sent their rafting national teams were namely; Nigeria, Morocco, Rwanda, Burundi, DRC-Congo, Uganda, Sudan, South Sudan, Somali, Tanzania and host Kenya.  

The above national teams are affiliated to WRF-African Council and are members of the World Rafting Federation (WRF).

The World Rafting Federation President Mr. Danilo Barmaz commended the African Continent especially the Kenya Rafting Federation for successfully hosting this prestigious event for the first time in African soil.

The event was graced by the Tourism Cabinet Secretary – Ms Rebecca Miano, Principal Secretary State Department of Sports – Mr. Elijah Mwangi and his Counterpart from the ministry of Tourism Mr John Ololtuaa. Other guests present were:- Mr. El Mamoun Belabbas – President of the African Council WRF, Muranga County Governor- Dr. Irungu Kangata, the President of Kenya Rafting Federation, Ms Muthoni Mwangi and Kenya Rafting Federation Secretary General- Mr William Kinuthia amongst many distinguished guest.
