Kenyan athletes proudly represented Africa at the World Rafting Championship held in Aluminé, Patagonia, Argentina in 1st – 9th Nov 2025. The prestigious global event brought together over 300 athletes from 24 countries across the world.
Kenya was the sole representative from Africa, having earned the honor after emerging as Continental Champions at the Africa Rafting Championship held in July 2025 in Sagana, Kenya.
During the World Championship in Argentina, Team Kenya delivered an impressive and powerful performance, competing strongly against the world’s best rafting nations. Their outstanding participation signaled Africa’s growing potential in the sport and reinforced the continent’s position as an emerging powerhouse in global rafting.
Following this momentum, Kenya is set to host a World Cup Series in Sagana from 5th to 12th July 2026. The event is expected to attract participation from all continents, further cementing Kenya’s and Africa’s role on the international rafting stage.
The Kenya Rafting Federation remains committed to developing the sport across Africa and positioning the continent competitively in future global and Olympic rafting competitions.
