The United Rafting Federation has deployed 16 highly experienced and qualified judges to officiate the ongoing Rafting World Cup Series at Rapids Camp Sagana in Murang’a County.
“We are prepared with enough judges drawn from Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, the United States, Mexico, Bulgaria and Great Britain.
“We are a diverse group with a wealth of experience. Collectively, we have spent many years officiating international rafting competitions, so I don’t anticipate any issues during this event,” said Stefan Puriakov, Chief Judge of the United Rafting Federation.
Participants, athletes and fans can expect the same high standards as always. “They can expect fair judging and professionalism throughout the competition,” he added.
Dutch software company Professional Timing is responsible for this year’s World Cup Series timing services, providing real-time rankings, scoring and timing using advanced technology.
“They are very familiar with how we work because the head of timing is also a judge. That means the timing system for this event is fully synchronised with the judges’ operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly.”
A total of 16 judges are officiating the 2026 Rafting World Cup Series. In addition, 25 aspiring judges are undergoing certification through ongoing training, as well as a series of physical and virtual workshops being conducted alongside the World Cup Series in Kenya.
