Kenyatta University & Kenya Rafting Federation
Kenya University one of the leading institutions offering degree programs in sports management has partnered with Kenya Rafting Federation Sagana through an MOU to offer short courses in white water rafting in Sagana, Kenya.
These are short-term courses with a certificate of participation at the end of the course.
It has two levels of participation.
1. The theory which involves:-
– Risk management for adventure,
– Raft guides,
– Safety kayak,
– Trip leader course and more.
The timing is about 90 days.
2. The practicals involves:-
– Raft guides,
– Safety kayak,
– Rescue 3 courses,
– Rope courses,
– Trip leader and instructor with the course taking about 90 days.
This is the first time the Kenya Rafting Federation is offering these specialized courses in East and Central Africa.
These types of courses will benefit about 10 African countries in the Region and Kenya University remains a strategic partner to offer the White Water rafting course. All these courses are sanctioned by both the African Council in Morocco and the World Rafting Federation (WRF) in Rome Italy.
Students who successfully complete these courses will have higher chances of working in the adventure industry, the fastest-growing in tourism and hospitality in the world and students can work anywhere because this qualification cut-accross board in the world.
Kenya Rafting Federation is also looking at areas of Partnership with United States International University Nairobi. This is to foster growth and discipline in our young students and society at large.
