The Kenya Rafting Federation (KRF) is proud to announce the inaugural Africa Rafting Championships, set to take place from 14th to 20th July 2025 in Sagana, Kenya — the heart of East Africa’s white-water rafting scene.
This landmark event, sanctioned by the World Rafting Federation (WRF), will bring together teams from across the continent, with 18 African nations expected to compete in this thrilling and fast-growing water sport.
Preliminary trials will kick off on 18th June 2025 on the River Sagana, providing teams an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the course and demonstrate their skills ahead of the main event.
In a major boost to the sport locally, Kenyatta University, USIU-Africa, and the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) are all expected to participate and support the championship — signaling strong institutional backing and the growing prominence of rafting in Kenya.
This event marks a significant milestone for Africa Countries ahead of Senior World Rafting Championships 2025 – Neuquén, Argentina, promoting not only sport but also adventure tourism and environmental awareness through river conservation.
